Silverhill Primary School - Liquid Coatings
Location: Derby
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Completed during the summer holidays of 2022, Silverhill Primary School had Garlands Dura-System Liquid systems installed as a roof renewal coating.

Originally designed to be a Garland full roof system, the project was confined to the school holiday period and as such the programme could not be met with this system.
Garland offered an alternative liquid based system which was installed as a renewal coating with a 25 year guarantee.
Midland Roofing were able to install the new coating to all 1300m2 of the school's roof area within the alotted time and the school returned to a new, watertight roof. -

Garland's felt system along with insulation were installed to all roof areas. The school now benefits from a 25 year waterproofing guarantee and thermal upgrade. -
Rykneld Primary School - Self Adhesive Felt
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Contract Value: £100,000.00
Rykneld Primary School, situated in Burton-on-Trent, started out with a 20 year old felt system that held a concerning amount of water across it's 800m2 total roof area. It was ready for an insulation and waterproofing upgrade to extend the lifespan and improve the standing water conditions.

Working closely with BMI Icopal, a self adhesive felt specification was drawn up to accomodate the School's safety concerns with the use of hot works. To keep costs down, flat insulation boards were hand tapered to form falls within newly formed gutters. This alleviated most of the standing water issues the roof was previously having.

Kings Crescent
Location: Derby
Grace Construction's newly built Georgian-style crescent, on the northern edge of Derby City centre saw Midland Roofing as the chosen contractor for the Pitched and Flat roofing package.

Spanish slate was selected for the pitched roof to keep within the heritage aesthetic of the area, whilst also offering the modern beneficial aspects of a new roof.
Icopal's Sureplan Single Ply buit up system was used alongside for the flat roof areas to give the desired aesthetic of a lead roof whilst offering the benefits of a single ply sytem.
The project was completed within programme despite challenging dormer and gutter detailing.
